Director, Strategic Initiatives (Special Projects Director), Penn State Public Broadcasting

It’s all about creating the vision and then actually being able to implement it! Penn State Public Broadcasting is looking for a seasoned public media professional to lead the development of national-level, high-impact public service media projects and the creation of a National Center for Public Service Media. Requires Master’s degree or equivalent, plus three years of work-related experience. The successful candidate must have a strong record of securing production funding from federal sources and an extensive national production portfolio, with experience directing, writing, and producing at that level. You must have effective teaching and mentoring experience, strong research skills, and exemplary interpersonal communications skills. The ability to build relationships and work in an academic environment is essential. A strong creative vision and the ability to communicate that vision in a mentoring capacity are important. You must be able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, thrive in a fast-paced and growing environment, and have demonstrated ability to think strategically. A demonstrated appreciation of working with diverse audiences is essential. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
